Parkway Lanes Issues Non-Renewal Letters, Many Leagues Expected to Relocate

This story was requested and provided by a President of one of the Leagues at Parkway Lanes and corroborated by a manager of the center.

If you're thinking about rejoining one of your upcoming winter leagues in September at Parkway Lanes, you may want to make other arrangements. 

A number of league Presidents were issued letters over the last few days explaining that their leagues will not be renewed for the upcoming Fall Season that was scheduled to start in September.  The letter (as seen to the right) went on to say that it was a difficult decision and took much consideration and discussion.  On top of that, many leagues that did have their contracts offered for renewal were told that their regular lineage would be increasing as much as $1 - $3 per game.  Sources are saying that the reason for the league cancellations and increased lineage is to make room for more open bowling on weekends. 

Some of the leagues affected include the following:

• Friday
  • Continental Association League
    • Letter issued, contract not renewed.  League moving to Bowler City in Fall 2023.
• Saturday
  • Cibaena League
    • Lineage increased
      • Merging with Casa Dominicana League.  Further details not provided.
• Sunday
  • Sunday Mixed 10AM
    • Lineage increased as much as $3/game
      • Many bowlers bowl in the 27 De Febrero League, therefore many are anticipating the league to fold.
  • 27 De Febrero
    • Letter issued, contract not renewed. League moving to Lodi Lanes Fall 2023.
  • Casa Dominicana
    • Lineage increased $1 - $2/game. Merging with Cibaena League, moving to another center.  No details provided on other center.
• Monday
  • InterCity Mixed 
    • Lineage increased $1 - $2/game.  
    • League was told they will have a max of 16 teams.  If any additional teams are brought in the league will be terminated.
    • Holiday parties (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) are being canceled.
    • League expected to leave the center.
  • Winter PBA Tour Experience
    • Letter issued, contract not renewed.
    • League had been running for 12+ years all throughout Fall, Winter and Summer (45 weeks out of the year).

Parkway Lanes had the largest league roster in all of Bergen County.  The center's Facebook account was sent a message regarding the changes, but did not issue a response.  More details as they unfold.
